IMPACT

REAL NAME: Billie Marston
AGE: Early Thirties
BASE OF OPERATIONS: Motor City, MI
ASSOCIATES/ACCOMPLICES/MINIONS:
AFFILIATIONS: The Valkyries
BACKGROUND: Billie Marston was a typical college student going to U of M.  Majoring in business, it was her goal to become an executive at a Motor City based company like Optimum Inc.  She interned there for a while and made some good connections, and it seemed as if when she graduated a job may be offered to her.  Life was good.
But life did not turn out that way.  Billie was dating Jeff Joginder, a bio-chemist who believed he had come up with a catalyst that would activate someone’s “power gene”.  His work was supposedly brilliant although most of it was over Billie’s head.  He was working with a series of students as his test subjects but was one short, so he asked Billie to help him out.  Billie did, more to humor him than in the hopes of gaining powers, and took the injection.  To her surprise the catalyst worked on her!  She developed the ability to control kinetic force.  Jeff was elated at first, but that elation soon wore off.  It seemed that the catalyst worked only on Billie and no one else even though the study was expanded to include a thousand test subjects from numerous walks of life.  Billie broke up with Jeff after a while when it became obvious he was more interested in her power than in him.  After graduating from U of M in the top ten percentile of her class she took some time to learn how to use her power by going to Pure Power’s Plant, a school that teaches paranormals how to use their abilities.  Afterwards she went to Optimum Inc. to get her promised position.  Only the person who had promised her the position had retired and could not help her.  Billie was more than a little desperate.  She had student loans to pay as well as PPP’s bill.  Then she discovered that Optimum Impact’s super hero, Optima, was being “let go” so she took a chance.
    And Optimum Impact was born.
Known as Impact now, she is currently an active member of Chicago's Valkyries.

<>PERSONALITY: A lot has changed in Billie's life over the past few years.  Originally she wanted to be a corporate executive, to use the Optimum Impact persona as a means to get her foot in the door.  Over time being a super hero became the goal rather than a means to an end.  Her inability to get anywhere at Optimum Inc. was part of it, but another was her interaction with real heroes like Ultima and The Vindicators.  She discovered that being a hero in itself was a potentially noble calling.
These days she is The Valkyrie's chief financial officer, discovering ways to keep the group solvent.  While some might see her insistence on product endorsements and selling comic books and action figures (and the infamous Maxim photoshoot) as degrading, Billie has convinced detractors and team mates both her ruthless pragmatism is what it takes for a team to survive without being bound to a corporation.

POWERS: Impact is able to generate and control kinetic force.  She can use this ability to generate powerful bolts of physical energy, create a force field to redirect or neutralize kinetic force coming at her (like bullets, runaway cars, etc.) and she can employ it to allow her to leap great distances.  She wears a special costume that helps to refract non-kinetic energy but she relies on her natural agility to avoid such attacks.  She also wears a pair of protective goggles that automatically darken when exposed to bright light and are made of a bullet resistant material.

Billie has a degree in Business with a minor in Communications.  She has also taken courses at the Motor City Police Academy and is a graduate of Pure Power’s Plant.

APPEARANCE: Billie stands five foot nine, she has an athletic frame but still has a nice feminine shape that she has carefully worked to achieve.  She has long blonde hair she wears in a pony tail and hazel eyes.  Her features lean closer to “pretty” rather than “beautiful” but her bright smile is a definite asset.

As Impact she wears a dark green costume with white trim, a functional bandolier slung around her shoulder.
