Real Name: Adrian Dent

Background:  The Dents hie origonally from Pittsburgh, Adrian coming from a long line of steelworkers on his mother Judy's side. She married out of the 'family business', however, and was convinced by her husband to move away to a more pleasant venue -- London, England, his hometown. Adrian's father Albert, a schoolteacher, was easily able to find work due to the chronic teacher shortage, and they settled comfortably into the suburbs.

In due course Adrian arrived on the scene, followed by his sister Janie. Albert had difficulty getting tenure, and consequently they moved a few times over the years, causing intermittant disruptions in the family's lives.

Adrian eventually went on to become an air traffic controller, although not before managing to get himself a son on a -- now ex -- girlfriend. He pays support for the boy and has occasional visitation rights, which he takes advantage of when his schedule allows.

Life changed one day for Adrian, however, when a hijacked plane landed at London-Gatwick Airport for refueling. A number of local heroes descended upon the airport to offer assitance, including a brilliant if rather eccentric inventor called Task. In the course of searching for the right device, Task discovered by pure chance that his encephiographic brainwave enhancement bracelet, requiring a latent or active psychic to operate, reacted to Adrian. Taking the controller aside, he convinced him that no, he wasn't crazy, and yes, he should put the bracelet on. Adrian then immediately proved Task's theory that psychokinesis is largely intuitive, much to a nearby wall's detriment. Adrian clandestinely aided the assault on the hijackers, and managed to keep from being spotted while doing so. After the incident, Task pulled him aside and explained in depth just what happened, cautioned him on the responsability of power, then departed -- not without trepidation, likely, but unwilling to attempt to take the device away from him.

Fortunately, Adrian already had a fairly decent moral compass, and chose to join the ranks of costumed crimefighters. And when asked for the first time what he was called, his mind blanked, and the first thing that came to mind was the plane that had been hijacked -- a Delta, from back in his mother's homeland.  Upon joining the hero team Storm Guard, however, the team's lawyers informed Adrian that the name 'Delta' may cause legal hassles, so he changed it to Templar and took on a costume in more patriotic colours.

He served with Storm Guard for nearly two years, including assiting in beating back an invasion from an alternate dimension, pitting his kinesis against the might and magic of the invading Fir Bolg army. After the team dissolved from political pressures, he held up his heroic tradition by operating solo, pitting his will against the criminals of the British Isles.

Until, of course, he was yanked out of his own reality to help defend another.  He returned along with that world's hero, Trickshot.  Templar now works for the United Nations super hero team as the UK's representative.

Appearance: As Adrian Dent, he usually dresses casually, in terms of whatever he happens to be doing -- slacks, dress shirt with the top button open and a loosened tie, or sneakers, jeans, and a tee or sweat shirt, depending.  He's a twenty eight year old caucasian male, standing two inches shy of six feet, has a medium build, blonde hair, and blue-green eyes.

Powers/Skills: Templar has only one primary ability, but it is a powerful and versitile one -- psychokinesis. He can lift nearly one hundred twenty tons by thought alone -- a significant power increase he has discovered since his 'abduction' -- or crack a single egg. He is capable of supersonic flight using this ability, and he can also shield himself or others against physical or energy assault of anything up to and including most infantry weaponry. His powers maifest visually as a shimmering distortion in the air, with the greater the power use, the greater the distortion. He can also, due to the nature of the device, sense other psychics and their actions.

In the aftermath of dealing with the mystical forces during the Invasion, Templar added a few mundane accessories to his aresenel. Three pouchs on his belt hold pure, cold iron in various forms -- a pair of one-pound bricks he can use offensively as smashing weapons, a pouchful of iron three-penny nails, for a more shredding assault, and a pouch of iron filings, to be drawn into his shielding to provide additional ablation against fae magics.

None of this comes without a cost, however. His power is very seductive -- it sings in his blood, damanding to be used. If it weren't for the fact of the very psychological stability in the face of stress that made him a suitable air traffic controller, it's possible he would have cracked under the strain by now. As well as the potent psychological addiction, he has become physically addicted to wearing the bracelet, acquiring a fine set of the 'junkie shakes' within hours of removing it.

More mundanely, he has the various skills required for his old job, assorted system operation abilities, computer programming and use, basic electrical and mechanical servicing and such.
