Jonathan Hobbes

OTHER ALIASES: None
AGE: Early Thirties
OCCUPATION: Criminal
CURRENT STATUS: At Large
AFFILIATIONS: The Company of Wolves

BACKGROUND: Jonathan's family suffers from the curse of lycanthropy.  He and his three brothers are also mutants.  Jonathan had always been the "good son", the one who tried the hardest to go straight and make something of his life.  But when his college loan came due and he had no way to pay it his brothers' offer to join them became irresistable.  He ran with the pack and hadn't been able to stop running.

In an attempt to finally find a cure Jonathan and Donald fell in with The Druid when she attempted to slay and usurp the power of the South American entity.  Jonathan was the one who gained that power by merging with the being.  He managed to convince the Federal government that his three brothers were better off as wolves rather than psychotic killers who may escape to slay others and now they run as a pack through the Brazilian rain forest.  Jonathan has also opened relations with the Brazilian governments and others in an attempt to find ways for the forest to aid the poorer people of those nations.

POWERS: Seawolf's powers are ocean based.  When he becomes a werewolf his fur has an oily sheen to it that reduces friction as he swims through the water (it also affords him an advantage in combat as he is hard to hold onto).  His claws are very sharp and narrow and his mouth is full of rows of very sharp teeth like a shark's and his jaw strength is the most powerful of his brothers.  Unfortunately his sea-based mutations make him the slowest runner of the family and his body is built more for speed than power so he is also the smallest of the werewolves.  As a werewolf he is somewhat resilient to damage and can quickly heal from any injury not directly related to silver.  Oddly enough, unlike his brothers he does not have their vulnerability to white magic.

Jonathan has a very keen sense of hearing and smell, and his eyesight is specially adapted for underwater, allowing him to see very clearly in near-total darkness.

Jonathan is able to easily breath salt water through gills in his neck.  He can withstand the chilling cold and high pressure of ocean depths. He has been clocked to be able to swim up to thirty knots for hours at a time, and can build up a maximum speed of fifty knots for short bursts.

Now an entity of enormous power, it is unknown at this time what the full extent of Jonathan's powers are.  So far he has been seen communicating and controlling wildlife, can change his form and can manipulate the curse of lycanthropy.

PERSONALITY: Jon is a sensitive, caring man who tries to let brains win out over brawn.  When he becomes Seawolf his personality is tinged with the salty tang of bloodlust, a feeling he both hates and revels in and tries his best to fight at all times.

Now as the entity Jonathan is more than human but he has retained that element of humanity that links him to the rest of Mankind.  He feels very strongly about using his powers responsibly.  His years of living with the curse have made him averse to bloodshed.

APPEARANCE: Jon is a slight man, standing just five foot six.  He has long dark blonde hair and warm brown eyes, and he is considered to be very cute to most women he meets.  As Seawolf he becomes a werewolf; his fur is dark green-black and has an oily sheen and his claws are long and hooked, better for grabbing onto prey to allow his powerful jaws to work on them.
