Background: Alexander was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His father was a lineman at the Miller Brewing company and his mother worked as a real estate agent. All in all, his childhood was very normal and not really effected by paranormals in any way. He was an average C+ student and graduated from high school in the top fifty percent of his class. His interests include computer games and gaming consoles. With his interest in computers and the industry doing so well, Alex went to college to get a degree in Computer Science. He graduated in five years time with a degree in Computer Science and a few technical certifications. Unfortunately for Alex, the industry had taken a turn for the worst when he had graduated from college and instead of getting a cushy admin job as he had planned, he was forced to take jobs where ever he could find them doing help desk work or computer installations. The industry was market was flooded with people just like him that had planned on taking computer jobs and work was becoming increasingly hard to find as more and more people were laid off in the industry.

Alex’s life changed completely, however, when he took a job in Motor City as part of a team doing upgrades to the Windows XP operating system. He worked for a pharmaceutical company, one of the many companies that had rushed to Motor City to take advantage of the tax incentives. The team had to work third shift to reduce downtime of company employees. Alex had the misfortune of working in the labs late one night, upgrading the PC’s, there when someone broke in to the facility. The criminal, an unknown paranormal with pale skin and incredible strength, easily made it to the lab. Both Alex and the paranormal were very surprised to see one another, but before Alex could even surrender, the paranormal had closed with him and threw him through a wall. Alex had little time to register just how fast the man had moved, nor how strong the man was before he was flying through the air and crashing through a wall. In breaking through the wall, Alex’s body broke a gas line for the Bunsen burners. Alex, broken and bloody, was not even aware of the paranormal’s cursing when the gas ignited. The paranormal fled before the resultant explosion occurred, but Alex was barely conscious and certainly not up to moving. His mind just floated, dimly aware of his surrounding before everything disappeared in a blinding flash of light.

In the flash of an eye, Alex’s powers manifested, transforming his body into pure energy. He came to with fire raging around him and the automatic sprinkler system on. He was amazed to find he could sense the heat coming off of the flames, but it didn’t seem to hurt him. Even more amazing was the fact that the water from the sprinkler system was not making him wet, but seemed to be passing right through him. He headed for the nearest door and was immediately halted by the fact that he could not seem to effect the doorknob. His hand seemed to waver, disrupt, and pass through the door knob. He eventually got out of the building when firemen arrived on the scene.  What they saw was a man composed of light, and either a potential hero or menace....

Photon has been missing for some time, presumably lost in an alternate future timeline.

Powers:

Alexander has become a being of light. As such, in his normal form he is insubstantial, unable to physically effect the world around him. However, he must still follow the same normal patterns of light, so is unable to move through physical things such as walls. While it makes him immune to physical attacks, it also limits his effectiveness and severely restricts his normal life. He heard somewhere that light is both a wave and a particle, he calls this his wave form. In this form he can move so fast as to almost teleport to any location he can see. However, it is impractical for traveling any other distance or to any location he cannot see as it is impossible to navigate at 186,000 miles per second. His other form, which he calls his particle form, is made up of solid photons, like a hologram, and is able to interact with the physical world. He can open doors, press doorknobs, and effect the physical world, but is just as vulnerable as a normal human in that he can still feel pain, be knocked unconscious, etc.  He is far tougher than a normal human but at the moment it is hard to tell what his limits are. He must always maintain a little concentration on maintaining the particle form, however. In particle form he has the ability to project beams of light in one of three ways. He can produce rays of regular light, which can illuminate or can temporarily blind. He can also produce solid beams of light doing concussive blasts of damage. He has also learned to concentrate the light beam into a thin, but powerful laser.

Appearance:

Alexander appears now the same as he did before the incident which gave him super powers. He is five foot ten with long blonde hair that he keeps back in a pony tail. He has blue eyes and since the incident no longer has to wear glasses. He looks ever bit the Scandanavian that his ancestors were. His clothes are nothing more than an extension of his energy form and as such he can change them at will, but, possibly due to a subconscious limitation, he is unable to alter his own appearance.

Personality:

Alex used to be every bit the jokester and always tried to make people laugh and be happy. However, since the incident he has been feeling as if he is not quite human anymore and he now suffers from occasional bits of depression. When not given the chance to dwell on his current situation, he seems happy go lucky, laughs a lot and makes jokes, but when he is depressed it is very hard to cheer him up. He sees being unable to eat and any chance at romance gone as the worst possible things in life.
