Lunette

LunetteName: Lunette de Arbora
Race: Human
Sex: Female

Age: 23

Background: Lunette de Arbora, as her name might suggest, was found by the light of the full moon in a forested glade near an Alvares enclave. Magical tests were conducted to determine how she got there, and why she was apparently completely alone... these tests turned up absolutely no results, which was in itself VERY unusual, which helped the clan make the decision to raise her as a foundling.  She showed exceptional alchemical traits at an early age, and even passed one of the  infamous 'backfire' assignments by working out in her head how the two complicated solutions would interact when combined.  She has infuriated many of her teachers by not paying attention, and even conducting completely different experiments than those that were assigned to her, and still managing to pass all of her exams. 'Mysteriously gifted' students are not entirely uncommon in the world of mages, and in fact there's a few in her classes, but the lack of explanation for her  skills intrigues her superiors, and frustrates her to no end.

Skills:  Lunette is very alchemically inclined.  It can often be likened to simple conventional chemistry, but the added dimensions of unstable bonds, temporal bonds (bonding to other components in a different timeline) and unreal bonds  (alchemical configurations which don't technically exist on the same plane of existence as the rest) usually mean that the really successful alchemists are also the sorts of people who mumble to themselves and count toothpicks. Lunette can visualize all of these aspects, and more, while giving the impression of a slightly flighty mid-20's emo hipster. Her interest in the fundamental building blocks of the unreal universe also spills over into the world of artificery, and she dabbles as a hobbyist.  Her first (and favorite) permanent artifact is her notebook, which looks like a simple leather tome  with copper bindings and buckles, maybe two inches thick.  It actually contains more than seven thousand pages of notes,  and there's always going to be more when she needs them (though she is considering making a second tome simply to be an  index guide to the first one, since right now Page 1 is covered with Post-It Note reminders). Another spillover trait,  Lunette has also shown exceptional skill with cooking, and works as a sous-chef to pay the bills now that she's out on her own. She is not very skilled with weapons, preferring to use her assorted vials, wits and looks to get out of trouble, but  she is considering hiring a burly protector.

Possessions:

The Notebook - Artifact.  Sort of a Book of Holding.
The Suitcase - Artifact.  Sort of a ... suitcase of holding.  Pretty much just contains all of her equipment, and clothing.  She is still just a beginner, though, and the suitcase weighs exactly as much as it's contents would indicate, so she often has to imbibe a Potion Of Temporary Lesser Strength just to move it around when it's full.  Right now it's in the little storage space behind the seats of her truck (approx weight, 700 lbs).

Potions of: Temporary Lesser Strength, Temporary Greater Strength, Healing, Rejuvenation, Restoration, Wakefulness, Truth, Lies, Explosion, Explosion (Illusory Flames), Explosion (Extra Smoke), Explosion (Knockback), Armor, Passages, Flying, Floating, Clairvoyance, Farsight, Hindsight, and three bottles of Universal Solvent stolen from the Royal Pantry when she left the enclave. She can make quite a few more if she has some time and a goal in mind, but this is all she has on hand int he suitcase, and she usually carries half a dozen on her person at any time, particularly Explosion and Armor, just in case.

A reliable old F-150 which currently runs on water, and combination of Potions of Everlasting Flame and, strangely enough, Potions of Virility, giving her about 90 miles per gallon with a component cost of merely twenty bucks a tank.

A truly terrifying quantity of clothing.  Since getting out on her own, she's become a little bit of a fashion nut, and spends all of her extra money on clothing.  She will not admit how much of the weight of The Suitcase is clothing.

Laptop computer, with a lithium-ion-balthazate-oxypheromalkahyde battery.  She is popular on several chatrooms, both for her webcam pictures of herself with various chemical formulas (which have become a minor chemical/alchemical internet sensation and even a calendar), and uses it to quickly run calculations for her, mostly for ratios and quantities.

Due to the relative simplicity of transmuting various items into gold, or more accurately Transitive Gold, where the material slowly turns back into it's original form over a period of several days yet manages to retain it's golden color, she has quite a lot of wealth stashed away thanks to pleasant pawn shop owners.  She continues to work as a sous-chef because she finds the atmosphere relaxing, and she does her best thinking when her hands are distracted, but when she finally gets the whiff of adventure she plans to sink all of her cash into travel arrangements and an escort.  Currently prowling the message boards, both esoteric and mundane, looking for just the right guy.

Additional Information: Lunette is slowly being driven crazy by the dreams and possibilities of a theoretical particle, one that is both Real, Natural, Unreal and Temporally stable. Two of those at the same time are very possible, three at the same time is extremely rare and difficult to acquire, but also possible.  All four at the same time is unthinkable, except to a few dedicated and mostly-crazy alchemists, many of whom spend their entire lives looking for it.  Lunette can see it in her head, and her pages are full of little doodles of it in the margins, although to an outsider each one looks a little bit different. Such a particle would allow for the combining of components that react volatilely to eachother, explosively to eachother, even annhilate eachother, and would open up entirely new fields of alchemy.  Rare and temporary potions could be rendered permanent, healing potions could cure the incurable, and it's rumored death itself could be staved off (though to what extent, and with what side effects, none can say). Right now, she is planning a quest to learn more about it, which unfortunately means she needs to interact with the other clans, as well as groups openly hostile to her and her kind, in order to learn all she can.  Every little clue, even seemingly unrelated stuff, goes into her Notebook.
