While walking through the woods in search of leaves for her biology homework, Holly Mercer actually stumbled into one of these hidden bases. The smart thing to do would have been to leave and tell somebody what she had found, but Holly was too astounded by everything that the she saw that her curiosity took over and had her exploring the compound. Nobody was there, and by the looks of things, nobody had been there in quite a while. Holly snooped around, trying to find some clue as to what this place was for, but the only thing she could find was notes detailing the half-finished experiments that littered this place. From what she could tell, whoever had built them didn't have good intentions.

The base wasn't as dormant as she had first thought. Holly accidentally activated a security system, causing a cascade of events that threatened to trap her within the base permanently. It was unlikely that anybody was going to be able to find her. She would have to find her own way out and the only thing that was available were those strange gizmos back in the laboratory.

Unfortunately, most of them didn't seem to do anything at all. They were either unfinished, broken, or just poorly designed that they didn't accomplish the task for which they were built. One of the devices did do something, but it wasn't something that she could have expected. She remembered there being a big flash and after her senses had cleared, the room looked different. It was the same room, but she was seeing it from a different perspective. Everything looked bigger, much bigger. Except the room hadn't gotten larger...she had become smaller! Naturally, she was frightened about what had happened, but it did give her another way to exit the structure through the narrow ventilation system. Still, it seemed like a better idea to get out of here while she still could rather than starve to death down here or possibly do something worse while experimenting with the other devices.

It proved to be the correct decision as it sounded like the remaining security systems finished what was left of the base just as she was emerging on the surface.

Fortunately, the size change wasn't permanent and Holly eventually returned to her original height. However, it did have some lasting effects that she decided that she had better find somebody to help her learn how to control and use them.

Once the Dynamics project closed down Extreme retired from super hero-ing and has decided to just be a normal teenager.

Powers:
Although she has gained some increased strength and durability as a result of that accident, the more impressive aspect of her powers is the ability to change size. She can grow to gigantic size, gaining additional strength and durability. Even though she also has the ability to shrink to the size of a doll, she retains her normal size's strength and toughness.  Depending on the circumstances, Extreme will grow to gigantic size while fighting outdoors and use the shrinking ability when the fight is indoors and she doesn't have room to expand.  Holly is able to control the level of her size.

Her ability to change size also includes a limited aura about her to resize her clothing or jewelry. She can not change the size of equipment that is given to her to carry.

Personality:
Probably the best way to describe her is the big sister type. Holly doesn't seem that initimidating and can put others at ease. She tries to help out where she can and is protective of her friends. Holly is somewhat afraid of seriously hurting others that she often holds back. However, she is very much amused by her powers that she will often hang out in an altered size just for the fun of it.

Holly is still inquisitive, though she tries to be a little bit more cautious about it now. She has a good sense of humor and seems to have a goofy, awkward charm about her.

Appearance:
When not in her altered size, Holly is still rather tall. She is thin, though not overly so, and is just starting to realize that the guys are starting to take notice of her. Brown shoulder length hair, brown eyes, and an attractive face are also among her defining characteristics. She prefers casual clothing, but doesn't really go in for the expensive or trendy labels. She would like to come up with a decent costume idea for her other identity of Extreme, but she's still trying to decide on what she wants to do that won't make it seem as odd as it does.
